The ATC Difference

Quality isn’t expensive, it’s priceless!

Through all the hard work of our staff, we have earned the Select ShingleMaster (SSM) Designation and have maintained it since early 2011.  Click here to read more in depth about this and our other formal certifications, check out the “Our Credentials” page.  This is one of the most prestigious credentials and we are one of only two roofing contractors to have earned this designation on all of Vancouver Island and the only Roofing Contractor in Nanaimo.  This is not a fee based designation (when a company pays a fee to obtain the title). It is completely education based, ensuring that your home is completed by fully trained and certified installers.  The company and staff must maintain multiple certifications for 5 yrs prior to being granted the SSM designation. An SSM maintains fully credentialed MSA Certified workforce, MSA-qualified supervisor and a Certified Shingle Technology/Quality Specialist on site at all times.  Click here to read up on it: http://www.certainteed.com/qualifications.aspx

Protect Your Investment

All of CertainTeed’s shingle products are covered by standard SureStart protection for a specific period. Under this warranty feature, CertainTeed, at no charge, will repair or replace, at its option, any shingles proven to be defective during the applicable SureStart period (see actual warranty for details).

CertainTeed also offers SureStart PLUS, the strongest extended warranty coverage in the industry, which extends the coverage AND duration of the standard SureStart protection when a credentialed contractor installs an Integrity Roof System. Protect your investment and your home – demand the Integrity Roof System, demand a credentialed contractor, and demand SureStart PLUS.

You Have Options…
One of the many benefits of choosing us for your home improvement is that we offer you a complete line of accessory options. You can choose to upgrade or downgrade each and every aspect of your home system. All the options are laid out, and if you request something not in the quotation, we will be happy to add it. We offer both a bare bones installation for those seeking to receive a quality installation at a low cost, and a premium installation for those wanting to receive the very best of the best.

Protecting your property
Every contractor will claim to protect your property…but what exactly does that mean?  Draping heavy tarps overtop of your shrubs and delicate plants, only to be crushed by thousands of pounds of roofing material…nailing 1 sheet of plywood over the gutter at the disposal bin, only to have all the debris crashing down onto the new vinyl or cedar deck and glass railings?

Experience the ATC difference.  We go the extra mile…and then a little bit more.

We will literally build tarp ramps and curtains that envelope the entire building where necessary.  We lay plywood over every square inch of all your new vinyl and cedar decking and also against all glass railings, windows and heat pumps.  We then cover all of those sheets of plywood with tarps so that no dust, nails, shingles or debris of any kind can damage your property.  Just because we’ve protected the ground, does not mean we just push everything onto the ground.  In fact, we strive to keep absolutely everything up ON the roof wherever possible.  Check out our “Roofing Gallery” Page to see pictures of how others have protected other customers’ property in difficult situations.  If they are doing it right and doing something great, then they will be excited to show it off.

Formal Training
Owner and Installer, Adrian Tam has his Residential Carpentry Certification through Vancouver Island University (VIU), which was formerly Malaspina University-College. This crucial educational background sets ATC Home Solutions apart from other Roofing, Gutter, Soffit and Siding Contractors and ensures that every aspect of your home renovation is taken into account. All installers also participate in mandatory certification programs & training in all the trades that we offer. This means that the roofers know how to fabricate window & siding flashing to code, the gutter installers know how rain screen and bug screen are supposed to be installed and so forth, and can alter or halt installation if they spot a problem, rather than unknowingly covering it up. Most Roofing, Gutter, Soffit and Siding Installers are trained in only what they install. This can lead to problems when integrating the roof system into the siding, or the soffits into the rain screen and back framing requirements, when assessing vapour barrier and insulation issues, or when structural roof repairs are required. These types of cross-trade grey areas are often overlooked by other companies simply because it’s not something they are specifically trained in or a service that they handle.
